Synopsis

In a famed city divided into ten districts, witches and seers live within a labyrinthine layout. On the outskirts of this maze, many young women undergo training to become part of the urara, a cohort respected for their skill in uncovering answers to difficult questions. Chiya, who grew up among animals in the mountains, receives an invitation to train as a first-rank urara and pursues the hope of locating her missing mother. Early in her apprenticeship she befriends three peers: the diligent Kon Tatsumi, the aspiring witch Koume Yukimi, and the reserved Nono Natsume. Together, relying on their resourcefulness and a tenuous link to the divine, they embark on the path of the urara and begin learning the craft of divination.
