Synopsis

A colossal structure called the Tower selects certain individuals, known as Regulars, promising to fulfill their most profound wishes—wealth, fame, power, or goals beyond imagination—for those who reach its summit. Twenty-Fifth Bam grew up confined to a cave, surrounded by shadow and a solitary sliver of light. His life changes when a girl named Rachel appears through that light and becomes his closest companion, teaching him about the world beyond his prison. When Rachel decides to ascend the Tower and leaves Bam behind, his life unravels. Determined to reunite with her, he resolves to follow her path to the Tower. In an extraordinary turn, Bam gains access to the Tower despite never being chosen, becoming what the Tower's occupants call an Irregular—an entrant whose presence disrupts the established order and heralds unforeseen consequences as he begins his ascent.
