Terakomari "Komari" Gandesblood, a vampire who cannot wield magic or drink blood, has retreated from expectations and lived as a recluse for years. Due to a mistaken interaction with her father, Komari is appointed among the Seven Crimson Lords, the Mulnite Empire's elite military leaders. Lacking the skills expected of such a post, she must conceal her ineptitude from the soldiers under her command to avoid being deposed. With the assistance of her assigned maid, Villhaze, Komari fabricates the image of a merciless commander and vows sweeping conquest, sustaining the illusion even as genuine respect grows around her.
