Synopsis

After Luoyang is reduced to ashes, forces converge at Hulao Pass where the Guandong Rebel Army and the Xiliang Army clash. Liu Bei gains prominence when he is aided by Guan Yu and Zhang Fei in opposing Lu Bu. Secret pressures lead Lu Bu to coerce the Handicapped Warriors into plotting Dong Zhuo's murder. On the march to Chang'an they meet Yuan Shao’s troops but receive unexpected aid from Liu Bei’s group. A case of mistaken identity involving Zhao Huo and Zilong complicates matters. Within Chang'an, Lu Bu and the Handicapped Warriors confront the Xiliang Army under Li Ru in a contest of strategy and bravery that culminates in the deaths of both Li Ru and Dong Zhuo. Beyond the city, with counsel from Jia Xu and the application of the Dark Arts of War, Niu Fu achieves revenge, forcing Lu Bu into retreat and exposing the full scope of the Dark Arts, leaving Lu Bu in a dire predicament.
