Synopsis

General Abraha marches north from the Arabian Peninsula with a powerful army, intent on forcing Mecca’s capitulation, enslaving its people, and demolishing the Kaaba. While many are urged to flee, a small group of Meccan men choose to stay and resist. Among them is Aws Ibn Jubair, a former sinner turned modest potter who has committed himself to honor and faith. As enemy forces close in during the night, the defenders struggle to keep hope alive. The tense evening takes a turn when Zurara, an atheist mercenary and Aws’ former partner in wrongdoing, returns—initially motivated by food and payment rather than conviction. Exposed to Aws’ story of transformation, Zurara comes to see the city as worthy of defense. Together, the two once-related men prepare to face overwhelming odds to protect the land and the faith that have offered them a chance at redemption.
