Mirai Fukuin follows several linked cases tied to the Kara no Kyoukai timeline. After an explosion, Shiki Ryougi, Mikiya Kokutou, and Touko Aozaki begin tracking a bomber; that night Shiki glimpses the culprit and becomes the target of the assailant’s obsessive pursuit. The attacker lures her into a deserted parking structure, wielding explosives and a troubling ability to foresee future events with the intent to destroy her. Earlier, Reien Girls’ Academy student Shizune Seo plans to return home for summer but, upon stepping off a bus, experiences a premonition of a stranger’s imminent death. Her attempt to prevent that outcome leads her to Mikiya, who makes practical use of her foresight. In another thread, an employee undertakes an assignment accompanied by his employer’s ten-year-old daughter, only to encounter a specter connected to both their histories.
