Synopsis

A decade after the Zol Empire annexed Aquafa, one village remained scarred by a lethal malady called Black Wolf Fever. Officially believed eliminated, the disease resurfaces when spirit-like wolves strike a Zol-run salt mine. Van Gansa, a wartime detainee assigned to forced labor, and a young girl named Yuna are the sole escapees after both are bitten. Investigators conclude the wolves transmitted the fever, which killed many guards and workers. Van takes the chance at a new life and settles with Yuna in a rural farming community, but he is unknowingly tracked. Competing forces pursue him: some intend to use his blood to develop a remedy for Black Wolf Fever, while others seek to prevent any such exploitation. Caught between those factions, Van confronts a deeper threat that endangers the nation and risks spreading beyond its borders.
