Synopsis

Richard Ranasinghe de Vulpian, a young British expert in minerals who runs a modest jewelry appraisal shop in Japan, attracts attention for both his skill and striking appearance. After Seigi Nakata, an earnest college student, intervenes to protect Richard from harassers one night, Seigi brings him a pink sapphire ring left by his late grandmother for valuation. Seigi soon begins assisting at Richard’s shop, and together they handle a range of jewelry-related inquiries from clients of varied backgrounds. Through careful appraisal and conversation, the pair gradually reveal the emotions, motives, and small personal histories tied to each gem, aiming to comprehend and empathize with the stories concealed within the jewelry.
