Synopsis

Every few decades, a mounted assembly of fae warriors known as the Wild Hunt stirs and travels the landscape, triggering the decay of older flora and enabling new growth. After a lightning strike damages the stone reliquary where the Hunt rests, a fragment bearing the Hunt’s guiding rider is broken away. When the Hunt rises again, it can no longer hold its formation and instead wanders the woods aimlessly, bringing destruction in its path. To resolve this crisis, the spriggan assigns Elias Ainsworth the mission of returning the lost rider’s mount to its rightful leader. At the same time, Gabriel, a boy with asthma who yearns for adventure, finds the broken shard and inadvertently summons the displaced knight. The knight retains only a single overriding memory—the need to reunite with his steed—so he and Gabriel must locate the mount and restore the Hunt before the prolonged absence causes irreversible consequences.
