Synopsis

In the subterranean metropolis of Lux, residents endure fear and hopelessness under the control of rival criminal groups. Isolated from the surface, the factions revolve around the extraction of a unique material called raffia, the city’s fundamental resource. Raffia enables texhnolyze procedures that allow humans to replace body parts with cybernetic prostheses that do not provoke immune rejection. Research and oversight of these implants fall to an enigmatic body known as the Class, which also manages raffia production and delegates executional power to Organo, headed by Keigo Oonishi, a texhnolyzed leader reputed to perceive the city’s voice. The fragile equilibrium shatters after a mysterious outsider, Kazuho Yoshii, initiates a string of crimes that inflame rivalries among the gangs. Amid rising violence, new figures emerge: Ichise, a former boxer maimed by Organo and later fitted with texhnolyze enhancements by Dr. Eriko Kamata; and Ran, a young florist who possesses precognitive visions. As Lux descends further into disorder and madness, Ichise and Ran become entangled in the escalating crisis threatening the entire city.
