Synopsis

After his parents' deaths, Shinpei Ajiro grew up with the Kofune family and their daughters, Mio and Ushio. He later moved to Tokyo for schooling but comes back when Ushio drowns trying to save a child. At the funeral, a friend reveals bruises around Ushio’s neck, raising suspicion about the official cause. Convinced a crime may have occurred, Shinpei reviews recent events as eerie incidents persist: people vanish and unexplained phenomena arise. Mio remembers a local tale about mysterious beings called "Shadows," said to presage a person's death on contact. Confronting these unsettling signs and the island’s darker side, Shinpei resolves to defy the looming threat and honor Ushio’s last wish by protecting Mio.
