Synopsis

Following operational difficulties experienced by human-piloted Comet Blasters, the Cosmic Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) determines that complete reliance on human intervention for interception tasks is no longer viable. Consequently, an earlier initiative involving autonomous shuttlecraft is reactivated for testing. Concurrently, on Shimoji Island, Mikaze and her companions undertake their pilot certification examination as a new group of recruits arrives at the facility. The situation escalates rapidly when an orbital station experiences a critical malfunction, necessitating an immediate rescue operation. As CEMA grapples with internal disagreements regarding the crisis response, the broader enigma surrounding the comets begins to come to light.
