Synopsis

Yuuta Hoshitani enters the prestigious Ayanagi Academy driven by the desire to locate the senior who inspired him. The school is renowned for cultivating outstanding musical performers, but admission into its Musical Department requires competing for placement. Leading the department is the Kao Council, a group of third-year students whose authority shapes school life and departmental entry. For Hoshitani, the most direct path into the department is to secure membership in a Star Team, which grants instruction from a Kao Council mentor. After attracting the attention of Itsuki Ootori, Hoshitani becomes a member of Team Ootori and falls under the guidance of the council’s most unconventional figure. His teammates include his roommate Tooru Nayuki, novice Kabuki performer Kakeru Tengenji, the reserved Shuu Kuga, and Kaito Tsukigami, who is related to notable alum Haruto. Each member contends with personal limitations: Hoshitani wrestles with his perceived lack of skill, while the others must confront their own weaknesses. Confronted by competitive Star Teams—among them the remaining Kao Council members—Team Ootori must develop their own identity and cohesion as they work toward performing at the Ayanagi Festival.
