Synopsis

The Gamilans confront a planetary collapse that threatens their survival. To secure a livable future for his people, Aberdt Desler pretends to accept domination by the planet Galman—home to a people nearly identical to the Gamilans—while secretly planning to take power and hasten his people's relocation. As Gamilans begin evacuating, an enormous unknown force strikes, devastating their counterpart world, Iscandar, the realm of Queen Starsha. On Earth, the celebrated Space Battleship Yamato and its crew are honored for past feats while integrating a new generation of recruits and two support vessels under officers Yuki Mori and Shirou Sanada. Tensions over former leadership decisions persist, and during a six-month training and diplomatic deployment that brings the fleet into contact with the Gamilans, the crew learns of the catastrophe. Disregarding standing orders, Captain Susumu Kodai leads Yamato and its ships to Iscandar to assist the survivors, setting the stage for a mission driven by rescue amid political deception and cosmic threat.
