Synopsis

Amu Hinamori, a reserved student who faces isolation because of school rumors about her ‘cool and spicy’ image, longs to reveal her true self. One morning she finds three ornate eggs at her bedside; each contains a Guardian Character, a physical representation of a person’s would‑be self and aspirations. With the help of Ran, Miki, and Su, Amu begins to convey the side of her she has kept hidden, though expressing herself does not always go smoothly. The arrival of multiple Guardian Characters attracts the attention of the Seiyo Elementary Guardians, a council‑like student group whose members also possess their own Guardian Characters. Labeled as the Guardians’ “Joker” because she houses more than one Character, Amu is enlisted to help locate X Eggs, which are corrupted forms of Hearts Eggs. As she works alongside the Guardians, Amu becomes more involved in investigating the nature of Guardian Characters, the threat of X Eggs, and the organization connected to these phenomena.
