Synopsis

Adapted from the classic Japanese novel Nanso Satomi Hakkenden, this animated reimagining is set in a future where celestial conflict shaped the world. After wars among the heavens left a single ruling household dominant, the surviving scion controlled every moon except Meiten, a sanctuary where conflict was forbidden. From each of the eight moons emerges a person bearing one elemental jewel—the components needed to remake Earth. These eight individuals, bound by sacrifice and duty to Queen Fuse who entrusted them with the jewels, carry powers tied to those elements. When the deranged emperor Kai attempts to revive a spirit bent on thwarting Earth's restoration, the jewel-bearers must use their abilities to prevent that interference. Converging aboard Kusanagi, the vessel at the heart of God's land, they aim to assemble the jewels into the Yatsufusa mechanism to recreate Earth and confront those who would stop them.
