Synopsis

Mahiru Shirota values simplicity and avoids needless trouble, a mindset that prompts the 15-year-old to take in a stray cat he finds after school. He names the animal Kuro, unaware that this small act will upend his routine existence. Returning home one day, Mahiru discovers an unfamiliar young man in his apartment; a startled reaction exposes the intruder to sunlight, causing him to revert into the very cat Mahiru had taken in. The newcomer identifies himself as a listless, reclusive vampire who intends to depart at nightfall, but a sequence of misfortunes results in Mahiru inadvertently entering into a contract with the idle creature. That agreement entangles Mahiru in perilous clashes involving supernatural servants and bloodthirsty entities, forcing the orderly teenager into a chaotic struggle that contradicts everything he prefers.
