Synopsis

At Achiga Girls' Academy in Nara, the school's mahjong team once toppled a regional stronghold and reached the national semifinal before being eliminated by the eventual winners; not long after, the club ceased to exist. Six years on, elementary pupil Shizuno Takakamo becomes close with transfer student Nodoka Haramura. Both later enroll at Achiga, but Nodoka leaves the school during her second year. The following year, Shizuno spots Nodoka on television as the national middle school individual mahjong champion and, inspired by this revelation, determines to rebuild Achiga's mahjong club.
