Synopsis

In the shadowed depths of the UnderNet, Forte is roused from listless drift when a reawakened pulse draws his attention to a looming threat. Before him materializes a disquieting visage embedded within a vast, glowing purple mass that mocks him; as Forte utters a curse he finds himself unable to resist as the amorphous form assumes shape and ensnares him. Elsewhere, as day wanes, a tranquil city proceeds with its routines until passersby notice a flickering violet shimmer on the sidewalk. The glow abruptly swells into a towering column that ascends skyward, inciting panic as it consumes everything along its trajectory. When a nearby clock tolls four, the pillar collapses, leaving behind scattered cybernetic detritus and a hollow silence. The unfolding events tie into the larger conflict suggested by 'The Program of Light and Dark.'
