Synopsis

After returning to Irlam, Subaru Natsuki and Emilia discover the village devastated by the destructive forces known as the Sin Archbishops, crushing any hope of a calm reunion. Subaru finds that his power to reverse death no longer provides the certainty it once did, leaving him overwhelmed by despair. Seeking explanations, the group travels toward the Sanctuary, where Subaru unexpectedly meets Echidna, the Witch of Greed. Under her probing influence he is compelled to relive entangled memories of what has been and what may become. Meanwhile, shadowy dangers begin to converge on the Sanctuary, threatening the defenseless inhabitants with grim outcomes. Themes of binding oaths, past transgressions, and unreturned affection intertwine and escalate into violent consequences in this season. Confronted with mounting loss and moral strain, Subaru’s determination to protect those he cares for is tested to its limits.
