Synopsis

Utena Tenjou transfers to Ohtori Academy and attracts attention, yet she remains focused on Touga Kiryuu, a childhood friend. Touga understands Utena's history and knows about the Mark of the Rose, rings that identify participants in battles fought for the Rose Bride, Himemiya Anthy. The duels determine who gains control of the Rose Bride, and the victor of all matches is said to receive the ability to enact a world-changing revolution. Utena becomes involved in these ritualized confrontations, but her relationship with Touga and their shared past introduce complications that threaten to undo the fragile order surrounding the duels. This adaptation revisits the original series' enigmatic atmosphere, where appearances are deceptive and underlying motives remain hidden.
