Synopsis

After comets once threatened to drain spiritual energy from sky and land but caused no disaster, a boy named Ouriku is born in a secluded Sokei village. Years later, with the comet memory dimmed, the Reikenzan clan—one of the nine provinces’ five leading sects—announces selection exams to recruit promising candidates destined for discipleship and sagehood. Ouriku and his attendant Ouchou travel to the examination site, unaware that the event’s organizer, the graceful yet notoriously careless Oubu, runs the trials with erratic and unpredictable methods. The series follows Ouriku as he faces these unexpected challenges while seeking to advance toward becoming a powerful sage, set against lingering concerns about the earlier celestial omen and its implications for the world.
