Synopsis

Comet, a twelve-year-old princess from the Harmonica Star realm, was meant to meet the prince of the Tambourine Star at a ball where he would choose a bride. When he fails to appear, she is dispatched to Earth to locate him; he can be identified by the starlight reflected in his eyes. On Earth, Comet grows fond of the people she encounters. Another princess, Meteor of the Castanet Star, also arrives on Earth seeking the same prince. Comet is accompanied by a small dog, Rubba Ball, who has a star at the tip of his tail. Prior visitors to Earth include one who remained and married; that visitor’s pet, a white cat with bunny-like ears and a tiny heart on its tail called Bunny, became a kind of forest fairy. Comet draws her power from the stars of her homeland, channels it through a baton, and carries a distinctive pendant from which Rubba Ball emerges; the pendant also allows her to sense and locate the prince.
