Synopsis

A mysterious troupe called the Dead Moon Circus arrives in Juban seeking to free their queen, Nehellenia, by taking the Legendary Silver Crystal. They deploy creatures called Lemures to transform people's dreams into nightmares, harvesting the resulting energy to envelop Earth in darkness and convert it into a realm of death. To oppose this plan, Usagi Tsukino and her allies must again assume their roles as the Inner Sailor Guardians. After a total solar eclipse coincides with Mamoru Chiba falling ill, Usagi and Chibiusa meet Helios, a pegasus who urges them to release the Golden Crystal as the sole hope to protect his world from the encroaching danger. Following the eclipse, the Guardians find themselves unable to transform and begin succumbing to the Lemures' influence. The story follows their struggle to restore their abilities and confront the Circus before darkness can overtake the planet.
