Synopsis

Toua Tokuchi is a gifted player skilled in both baseball and betting, known for winning 499 Straight matches in the one-on-one contest called One Outs, where pitcher and batter face off. He treats the game primarily as a means to earn money. Hiromichi Kojima, a famed slugger from the faltering Saikyou Saitama Lycaons, sees Tokuchi's ability and believes he can revive the team's fortunes. Kojima stakes his own standing to defeat Tokuchi in One Outs and compel him to join the Lycaons. Once enlisted, Tokuchi clashes with team owner Tsuneo Saikawa over compensation. In response to Saikawa's refusal to offer fair pay, Tokuchi insists on an unconventional agreement: each out he records yields five million yen, while any run he allows costs him fifty million. Facing a season where each appearance could either secure his reward or ruin him, Tokuchi must rely on his cunning and pitching approach to navigate opponents, team politics, and the severe financial terms of his contract.
