Synopsis

After being taken to a hometown festival she resisted, Oriko "Okko" Seki faces a sudden tragedy when her parents die in a car crash soon after arriving. Sent to live at her grandmother's traditional hot spring inn, Okko discovers the inn is inhabited by the spirit of a barefoot child who urges her to learn the duties needed to one day run the establishment. Struggling with the daily tasks and guest care, she clings to her parents' belief that an inn should be open and welcoming to all. As she adapts, Okko also encounters additional spirits in the village and gradually recognizes that, despite her loss, she can find companionship and purpose while preparing to inherit the inn.
