Synopsis

On a bright afternoon in her Paris residence, veteran hitwoman Mireille Bouquet receives an unexpected message from Kirika Yuumura, a Japanese student who asks her to "visit the past" together. What seems at first like a prank becomes significant when the message plays a tune Mireille remembers from her younger days. When they meet, both are attacked by armed assailants; Mireille handles the initial threat, and Kirika surprises by eliminating several attackers with practiced efficiency. Despite her lethal skill, Kirika is troubled by an emotional blankness: she cannot summon remorse for those she kills, and she cannot recall how she obtained her abilities or who she was before. Noting hints of a shared history, Mireille decides to partner with Kirika. Adopting the codename "Noir," they take on assignments that force them to confront violence and secrecy, each mission drawing them nearer to the hidden connections in their pasts and testing the fragile bond between them.
