Synopsis

Yukihisa Matsuda, the principal conductor of the Rising Star Orchestra, travels to Paris to lead a guest performance of Wagner’s Tannhäuser Overture with the Recyl Symphony Orchestra. While there, he overhears members of the local music scene admiring Shinichi Chiaki, a promising Japanese conductor affiliated with the Roux-Marlet Orchestra, and reacts with suppressed disdain at the presence of another respected dark-haired figure in the same city. After Matsuda’s personal relationship abruptly ends following the concert, he encounters Chiaki and invites him out under the guise of offering professional guidance. The evening’s conversation, however, shifts from career matters to probing Chiaki about a particular person important to him, creating an uneasy, tense interaction that blends artistic rivalry with private intrusion.
