Synopsis

Set in the Edo era, a skilled ninja abandons his clan and becomes the target of a relentless manhunt by those who view his departure as betrayal. Forced into constant flight, he traverses the country relying on cunning and combat skill to evade capture. As the pursuit wears on, the strain of being hunted alters his psyche: persistent fear transforms into deep suspicion, and he gradually comes to assume hostile intent from nearly everyone he meets. The narrative follows his struggle for survival and the growing isolation and mistrust that define his existence while on the run.
