Synopsis

Takashi Natsume, who once regarded his ability to perceive youkai as a burden, has grown into a high school student who has mended past wounds and forged strong connections with both people and supernatural beings. Among his closest companions is Madara, a powerful spirit often called "Nyanko-sensei," who acts as Natsume's guardian. Much of Natsume's life now involves honoring a promise tied to his late grandmother Reiko: returning the true names recorded in her keepsake, the Book of Friends. As increasingly notable youkai seek him out, Natsume continues to learn about the complexities of the world around him and the relationships that define his path.
