Separated from his temporary human charge, Nyanko-sensei — a powerful youkai nicknamed Madara — encounters two young siblings in the forest. Unsure how to manage children and wary of the predatory spirits that roam the woods, he reluctantly opts to accompany them to safety. Though formidable in power, Nyanko-sensei soon finds that guiding playful, inquisitive youngsters through perilous terrain is unexpectedly taxing, testing his patience and resolve without revealing more of the journey's outcome.
