Rudeus Greyrat follows guidance from a mysterious deity and enrolls at the University of Magic, where he is reunited with Sylphiette, a childhood companion who worked hard to restore his health. Their relationship deepens and they plan a wedding gathering, inviting the companions they have made to acknowledge and solidify their commitment. Despite these positive developments, difficulties remain: research Rudeus assists Shizuka Nanahoshi with encounters a serious obstacle that leaves her demoralized, echoing Rudeus' own past struggles, and a communication from his father, Paul, complicates interpersonal dynamics. Sylphiette continues to lack knowledge about Rudeus' true origins. Confronted with these emotional and practical hurdles, Rudeus must draw on the understanding and skills he has gained in this new life to handle the complexities of relationships, responsibility, and living fully.
