Synopsis

Uiba Shikatani, whose family runs a pet shop, is devastated when some reptile eggs fail to hatch. To lift her spirits, her father brings home an unusually large striped egg, hoping it will succeed where others did not. The egg opens to reveal a small green dinosaur they name Muka-Muka, a creature that communicates only with that name. Muka-Muka quickly draws widespread attention in their town, attracting the curiosity of a local professor known for eccentric inventions. One of his devices, a working time machine, suddenly transports the Shikatani family and neighboring households back to prehistoric periods. There, they encounter a variety of dinosaurs and other magical beings, leading to a series of adventures as they navigate ancient landscapes and unexpected challenges while caring for the enigmatic young dinosaur.
