Synopsis

After finishing high school and leaving for university, Koyomi Araragi is no longer present to assist the town with supernatural matters, leaving friends to handle fresh curses and dilemmas. Yotsugi Ononoki, a former human corpse now functioning as a living doll, moves into Araragi’s home to watch over his sister Tsukihi, who conceals a mystical secret. Taking on responsibilities similar to Araragi’s, Yotsugi aids local residents with occult problems. One such person is Nadeko Sengoku, a middle schooler recovering from recent paranormal encounters who avoids returning to school and pursues her ambition to become a manga artist. To help Nadeko advance her skills, Yotsugi encourages her to manifest four duplicates that each embody different facets of her personality. The duplicates refuse to cooperate, flee into town, and generate disorder. Confronted with the tangible consequences of her split identities, Nadeko must track down the escaped copies and reconcile her fractured sense of self.
