Synopsis

Akira Nikaido, an unambitious high schooler leading an ordinary life, encounters the enigmatic Shirogane, who claims they share a fated connection. Skeptical at first, Akira is drawn into events after helping his friend Aya retrieve something she left at school one night and being assaulted by a shadowy creature. Shirogane explains that the equilibrium between the human realm and the shadow realm has been disrupted and urges Akira to accept transformation into a shin, a being of the shadow world, so he can aid in restoring that balance. The adaptation includes shonen-ai themes that are not present in the original manga.
