Synopsis

On Mercury, breakthroughs in cybernetic limb technology have enabled the creation of large piloted robots, but extended use of these bioengineered systems exacts a heavy physical cost on operators. As Mercury’s mobile suits become increasingly powerful, anxiety spreads among people on Earth. During her daughter Ericht’s fourth birthday, pilot Elnora Samaya conducts a trial of the advanced Gundam Lfrith under observation by its designer, Cardo Nabo. Despite instructions to stay away, Ericht arrives at Elnora’s workplace and becomes unexpectedly attached to the mecha, triggering disruptive events. The story follows the emotional and physical consequences of piloting cutting-edge machines, the strain on those who operate them, and the tension between technological progress on Mercury and apprehension back on Earth.
