Synopsis

A private investigator, Shunsaku Ban, and his nephew Kenichi travel from Japan to Metropolis, a tense, high-tech city where robots face severe persecution and an authoritarian power is gaining dominance. They seek Dr. Laughton, suspected of trafficking human organs and believed to be hiding in the city. The scientist has secretly created a sophisticated female android named Tima for Duke Red, Metropolis’s most powerful figure. After an unexpected incident sets Dr. Laughton’s lab ablaze, Shunsaku and Kenichi become separated while searching for survivors. Kenichi discovers a confused Tima and attempts to shield her from Rock, Duke Red’s ruthless foster son, who pursues the android. Mistaking Tima for an ordinary girl, Kenichi forms a human bond with her. As Shunsaku strives to reunite with his nephew, he uncovers sinister schemes unfolding within Metropolis, including how Kenichi’s companion is implicated in Duke Red’s designs for control.
