Synopsis

Nanoka is transported through a portal to Taisho-period Japan, where an exorcist named Mao reluctantly intervenes to save her from a hideous yokai. Back in her own time she discovers unexpected powers, prompting her to return to the past in search of explanations. There she becomes involved in Mao’s probe into a string of brutal killings. As she presses for answers, Nanoka uncovers that Mao carries a curse tied to a feline demon called Byoki—a malediction bound to his blade that kills anyone but Mao who tries to wield it. When Mao faces mortal danger, Nanoka takes up the weapon and strikes, drawing her further into the peril and mysteries surrounding the curse.
