Synopsis

Shiki Toono awakens in a medical facility, discovering an unusual visual perception. He can now discern invisible structural lines within all matter; severing these threads leads to an object's immediate disintegration. Shiki realizes that tracing these lines results in the object's destruction. He endeavors to keep this supernatural sight concealed while attempting to resume a normal high school life. This period of tranquility is disrupted when Shiki encounters a woman with distinctive red eyes. A sudden, involuntary mental episode causes him to attack her, leading to his unconsciousness. The following day, Shiki faces an attack by demonic creatures. He is rescued by the same woman, who identifies herself as Arcueid Brunestud, a vampire of royal lineage. They decide to collaborate, embarking on a quest to uncover the origins of their respective backgrounds and the cause of a series of recent homicides in the area.
