Synopsis

Ayumu Fujino, a fourth-grade student known for her hand-drawn four-panel comics in the school paper, faces unexpected insecurity when she must share her comic page with Kyoumoto, a withdrawn classmate she has never encountered. Confronted by Kyoumoto’s strikingly detailed work, Ayumu’s carefree style suddenly feels insufficient. Consumed by the need to improve, she withdraws and devotes herself intensely to studying and drawing manga, striving to match an unseen rival she assumes is far beyond reach. When her efforts still fall short, Ayumu abandons her art for a time. A year later, on graduation day, she finally meets Kyoumoto and discovers that the shy, disheveled, stammering girl has been her greatest admirer all along. Their meeting rekindles Ayumu’s enthusiasm for drawing and marks the start of a long-term relationship characterized by competitive drive, mutual respect, and a shared devotion to creating manga.
