Synopsis

Satomi Oka, a middle school choir leader, wrestles with disappointment after his group finishes second at a national contest and faces the approaching end of his tenure as graduation nears. Haunted by feelings of personal shortcoming, he is unexpectedly approached by Kyouji Narita, a charismatic gangster who asks Satomi to coach him in singing. Each year Kyouji and his associates enter a karaoke event with a harsh penalty imposed by their boss for the loser, so Kyouji seeks Satomi’s help to identify songs that match his voice. Though hesitant, Satomi sets aside his doubts and accompanies Kyouji to practice sessions. The story follows their uneasy partnership as they confront their individual insecurities and the uncertainty of whether their collaboration will help them grow or lead to failure.
