Synopsis

Teikou Middle School once ruled high school basketball thanks to five exceptional players known collectively as the Generation of Miracles, with an unseen sixth member who aided their rise. Over time, their extraordinary development dampened their passion, and they dispersed as they entered high school. Seirin High School recruits freshman Taiga Kagami, a physically gifted player recently returned from the United States, and Tetsuya Kuroko, a seemingly unremarkable newcomer who is later revealed to have been the Phantom Sixth Man behind Teikou's success. Kuroko seeks to demonstrate his own form of strength by supporting Kagami, who responds by forging a complementary partnership: Kuroko will act as the shadow to Kagami’s light. Together with their Seirin teammates, they set their sights on winning the Interhigh tournament, but the resurfacing of Kuroko’s former teammates presents new challenges to their goal.
