Synopsis

In a future where Earth was annihilated generations ago, the alien Gauna hunt the remaining humans who escaped aboard massive seed ships. By 3394, Nagate Tanikaze leaves the deep refuge where he grew up beneath the hull of the seed ship Sidonia to seek provisions on its upper decks, and becomes entangled in events he never anticipated. When the Gauna mount an attack on Sidonia, Tanikaze — alongside comrades and friends Shizuka Hoshijiro, Izana Shinatose, and Yuhata Midorikawa — takes part in defending what remains of humanity aboard the vessel. The story follows Tanikaze as he learns about the world above his hidden life and steps into the role required to protect Sidonia against the alien threat.
