Synopsis

A lethal pathogen called Medousa has spread worldwide, turning people into stone with no known remedy and pushing civilization toward collapse. In response, Venus Gate Corporation initiates a controversial program to preserve 160 individuals in suspended cryogenic sleep for up to a century or until a cure is found. Kasumi Ishiki is chosen for this program; though she worries about being separated from her twin, Shizuku, both hold on to the hope of reunion. When Kasumi is revived, she confronts an altered reality: the preservation complex is overgrown with thorny vegetation and beset by hostile, unfamiliar creatures. Most newly awakened participants perish in the initial chaos, but Kasumi and a handful of survivors survive and begin to explore the labyrinthine facility. As they probe the wreckage, they seek answers about Medousa’s origin and spread, while uncovering the hidden motives behind Venus Gate Corporation’s rescue plan.
