Synopsis

Humanity shares its streets with an unseen demonic realm, where youkai move concealed alongside ordinary people. Yurine, aided by the Karas—spirit guardians linked to crows—has long kept the peace between these overlapping worlds, preventing demons from disrupting human life. As belief in demons fades and people grow contemptuous of what once protected them, an aged Karas rejects those duties. Assuming a human guise as Eko, he builds an army of mechanized entities called Mikura to wage war on humankind. Otoha, a young man who inherits Karas abilities, is chosen to serve with Yurine after she senses his soul reaching toward her during his mortal existence. Charged with proving himself as the new Karas, he faces the task of halting Eko’s uprising and restoring equilibrium. At the same time, veteran superstitious officer Sagisaka and his pragmatic rookie partner Kure investigate the killings tied to Eko’s Mikura and pursue a rogue unit named Nue. Their inquiries and the emerging prophecy lead to a dire revelation that will affect everyone in the city.
