Synopsis

After their parents are killed, 11-year-old twins Thor and Rai Klein are forced to leave their home world and awaken on Chimaera, a terraformed planet overrun by carnivorous flora. Human survivors on Chimaera live divided into four hierarchical factions called Rings. The twins encounter a young man named Zagi and learn that only the individual who unites and defeats the four Rings—the Jyu Oh Sei—earns the right to depart the planet. Motivated by the wish to return home and to learn who was responsible for his parents' deaths, Thor commits to enduring Chimaera's hostile environment. As he navigates the brutal politics and power struggles among the Rings, he gradually uncovers details about the murder of his parents and confronts revelations that bear on humanity's broader destiny.
