Years after a malevolent force was recovered from the ocean depths, Joutarou Kuujou remains behind bars by choice, convinced an inner presence could harm others if he leaves. His mother, Holy, asks her father Joseph Joestar to persuade Joutarou to accept release. Joseph reveals that the danger is a "Stand," a tangible form of a fighter’s spirit that can take lethal shapes. Following a violent confrontation with Joseph’s ally Muhammad Avdol, Joutarou is compelled to leave the cell and begins training to harness his Stand’s abilities. When a Stand manifests within Holy and begins a countdown toward consuming her in fifty days, Joutarou, Joseph, and their companions must locate and eliminate the immortal vampire responsible. Their quest leads them to Cairo, Egypt, and forces them into clashes with other Stand users determined to stop them. Failure would bring a dire outcome for humanity.
