Synopsis

Kotoko Aihara, a struggling and awkward third-year high school student, loses her newly built home in an earthquake and must move in with Naoki Irie, the school's—and perhaps the country's—top academic achiever. Kotoko is already known to Irie because of a past incident involving a love letter she attempted to give him, which left a lasting impression on his view of her. Surrounded by eccentric classmates and a well-meaning but intrusive mother, Kotoko faces long odds in winning Irie's affection. Despite the challenges and her own setbacks, she remains hopeful that living under the same roof will bring her closer to the boy she has admired since the start of high school.
