Synopsis

Michi Sonoda, carefree and cheerful, tells her teammate Sanae Takigawa she plans to leave judo behind after their last middle school competition. Sanae is stunned because Michi’s enthusiasm was the reason she took up judo. Michi believes youth should be spent on pursuits like finding romance rather than training on tatami. Her intention to bow out dramatically is undercut when she suffers an embarrassing defeat to the skilled Towa Hiura. The situation becomes more complicated when Michi discovers Towa will attend the same high school as both her and Sanae. The unexpected presence of this former opponent forces Michi to confront unresolved feelings about the sport and reconsider whether she truly wants to abandon judo.
