Synopsis
Takumi Fujiwara, an accomplished street racer, endures a demoralizing defeat when his AE86 suffers engine trouble against Emperor leader Kyoichi Sudou. Shaken and questioning his capabilities after graduating high school, Takumi is approached by Ryousuke Takahashi, captain of the Akagi RedSuns, who offers to form a professional street racing outfit. The opportunity promises a way to advance his skills, but Takumi remains uncertain about committing. As he wrestles with self-doubt and misconceptions about racing, he first seeks to resolve the unfinished conflict with Kyoichi Sudou while considering whether Ryousuke and the RedSuns might guide him toward becoming a professional racer.
